Child element cannot be disconnected without deleting the dataset

Nevin and I were unable to find a method to disconnect the child element, in case the connection was erroneous, without deleting the dataset and creating it again; we can only "replace" the parent but not simply disconnect. This is not a big issue, but it would be good to know whether we are missing a point.
