Display configuration / options for TextPanel(s)

Editions often want to display more than a static serialization of a text but want to offer users a bit more flexibility in what they see. Oftentimes it is not handy to display all information at once because users get overwhelmed or see information they might not need but are interesting for specialized users.

Therefore, some projects implement a kind of display configuration or display options mechanism that e.g. enables users to switch certain features of the text on and off.

Is this a task for TIDO or should the website embedding TIDO deal with this?
